"Would you buy it again?"

Anyone who owns a manual, if you had to do it over again, would you buy the auto?

I love my car, but find the 5spd to be really clunky. If I would have known about the clunky manual, I probably would have bought another automatic.

No way, even with the grinding and general awkwardness. I'll never buy an automatic car again.

If I bought another 1.8 I would get a manual. If I got the 1.4 I would go auto

What does a 2014 have that a 2012 doesn't? I thought the only thing was buggy mylink. Or maybe its not buggy, but my assumption right now is that it is.

Everyone knows what I hate about my Sonic the most and it has to do with the word "eject".

Built-in Navigation Screen (can be used through smartphone). That wasn't even an option for 2012, nor was the one that was offered for the Cruze that had "Destination Download" (no, I don't like add-ons navs like Tom-Tom or Garmin).

Rear-View backup camera. Nice! A plus for tight parallel parking spots!

Forward Collision Alert. A plus for those long drives if you get distracted.

Lane Departure Warning. Another nice feature to have.

Sure, the 2015 will have more stuff too... but I really like the in-dash map. GM should have offered one for the LTZ as an option back in 2012.

Happy with my car....

My car is the 1.4 turbo 6 speed. It's a peppy little beast. Feels solid on the road, and has taken a bit to get used to. I am saving 46% at the pump, over the Audi A6 I had. That car was heavier, however even more peppy...

It's taken me a bit of time to get used to the interior, it's smaller, yes? However the gizmos on the dash work well. I am getting a bit less mileage per gallon than when brand new, however not too much. 38 to 40 MPG on my combined commute which is 84 miles round trip....

I am not impressed with the 6th gear, it's a gutless wonder, and doesn't boost the mileage as I thought it would. I also would like to have the cruize controll stay on when I shift gears....

Bought this car 'cause of the road feel.. it's very very much like my older 1984 Audi 4000, which I really love to drive [yes- I've still got the guy!]. People are surprized when I pass them at highway speeds in the sonic. I just love the look of a Focus owner as I zip by....

Speaking of cruise control. I noticed that my wife's automatic will stay put. If you set it to 70mph, it will usually stay at 70 +/- 1mph. However, my manual, I've caught doing as much variance as +/- 3mph.

I doubt it's a mechanical problem. It's probably just an automatic vs manual thing.

And here I wish I had a 7th gear at times.
Proof that you cannot and will not please everyone. Both of us want the total opposite.

I bought a 1.4 Manual, I'd probably buy an auto if I were to do it again. Half because the transmission isn't the best, half because I'm getting lazier as I get older.

If I couldn't get a manual, and it had all that nav, lane departure, camera, auto park, active cruise, etc I WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN. If It's standard equipment count me out, no way in he!! am I paying extra for crap I don't need, paying $695 for ONstar is painful enough.

Some cars you can only get in auto on the higher level trim - anything about poverty spec, really. I hate that. I like the Sonic in part because it offers a manual in all trims and with all packages.

Strange. Sounds like your car has issues. My 1.4 manual does not suffer from ANY of the conditions you described.

Add that to my list of reasons I bought a Sonic. With most other cars, you either have to get the most basic trim, or the really high end trim to get a manual. Corolla for example, only comes in manual with the low L model, or the sporty S model.

I most definatley wouldnt buy another RS....... the fuel economy sucks, Its really no better than my Cobalt SS/TC. IF I bought another Sonic it would be just an LT hatch w/ the 1.4T and 6 speed manual.

Ha, I guess I was a little harsh on my Sonic.... Highway fuel economy is the only real bummer with the RS, its barely better than my SS/TC. I've put 20,000 miles on my RS since I got it (July 3rd 2013) and I do enjoy it.....
In fact Im gonna write a small review for the car this week and I will have lots of good things to say.opcorn:

No. The more I drive it the less I like the clutch/throttle/electronic controls interaction. Ford Fiesta ST looks interesting.
