Hope it is not too much torture, the tooling is getting finished up and then we will know final pricing on it, right now it looks like it will be very close in price the hatchback system.
Thanks for the update Dave, any teaser pics? Final location and exit of tailpipe?
Bogus, you should have two cat's, a resonator (middle of car behind second cat) and a muffler (behind rear axel). The only difference between the HB and sedan exhaust is the length up pipe after the muffler.
Here are a few photos i took of the underside of my sonic.
As you will see in the first photo, You will see a small round tank, thats the 2nd catalytic converter,
then you have a large Tank, Thats the stock Resonator,
then a series of bends of pipes leading to the next photo Set.
The second photo set shows the stock muffler and tailpipe. as rdss said, the hatchback is the same setup for the exhaust except the hatch tailpipe is much shorter. hope this helps you out.
The owner of the Sedan that has the first system installed on the car was able to send over a pic of the tip, I am working with him to get some more pics for everyone.
I think I am going to have to pass. I was hoping for a factory style "hidden" tailpipe and 640 dollars (I'm leaning towards muffler and add resonator if it's not to my liking) is to much to throw an exhaust on and cut up the kit. If the rear bumper cover had a factory cut out for a tailpipe I would be more than happy to run your exhaust.
I stand by my interpretation of his statement. If I had interpreted that statement to be limited to you two I would not have replied. If on re-reading I had seen what you imply he meant I would carry on without further ado. But rightly or wrongly I perceive (even after a re-read) my taste being knocked for no reason other than we have different tastes. If the post knocking those who prefer a different (say larger or more visible) exhaust tip only applied to you two or one or the other than perhaps the poster could chime in and clarify. It is ok with me if others prefer an OEM or OEM style exhaust tip, we each have our own individual sense of what is right. But if I am slammed I will respond. 'Twas ever thus and 'twill ever be.
