Hey guys... I am now the proud owner of a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic LT sedan
. Just took ownership of it yesterday, got a great deal on it. I would have preferred a hatchback with the 1.4L Turbo, but honestly, the styling of the sedan grew on me, and the 1.8L seems more than adequate!
I traded in my 2003 Chevrolet Impala .. just hit 100k miles on her - young, I know. It was my first car, and a gift from my grandmother... but it was neglected and poorly maintained before I got it - so much so that the oil level barely registered on the dipstick, and the power steering fluid didn't even leave a mark on its dipstick. Transmission fluid was never changed and was burnt. My dad and I put quite a lot of work into that vehicle, including changing the infamous LIM gaskets, which allowed oil into my coolant. I kept the car up as much as I could, and it was always fairly reliable... but it was time to move on. The transmission would occasionally slip and shift sluggishly, even with an Overkill PCM tune (highly recommend those guys), which did help a lot. If I floored it, it would just slip and not grab the gear on a 2-gear downshift. Recently, I noticed what I think was coolant getting into my oil.. and the engine has been running rich, surging at idle, etc, I decided it was time to get as much as I could for it and get a new vehicle. Repair wasn't a good option, I haven't even listed half of the problems with my old car here
.
I tried to get a Sonic in 2011 when they were first introduced, but it wasn't financially feasible for me back then. I was offered a great deal on this one, since it is a leftover from '13, and still brand new (has 60 miles on it right now). Just wanted to say hi on here, since I'm sure I'll be here a lot... this forum has already given me a few ideas on future plans for my Sonic!
