If people dont like the bog with the AC on, push the little button to turn it off for the few seconds you need to get up to speed. The smaller and lower power for a given RPM the more the engine is going to bog down. Yes, newer systems are more efficient and consume less power than the older systems, but they still consume a lot of power. I can feel a reduced power with my car when the AC is on, but i learn to drive within the power level if I do not want to turn off the AC.
We shouldnt have to high revv it when the a/c is on just to get it to move! The higher the revv's, the more fuel you use and less MPG. Which would defeat the purpose of having a car to get BETTER gas mileage. That is what everyone is complaining about with the 1.8 engines. It shouldnt bogg when the a/c is on. thats it. and it shouldnt matter if its a manual or automatic. and not everyone likes to drive a manual. or know how. I prefer the automatic because it keeps your hands on the wheel and less distraction. I will know more about this A/c Problem this week. i have an appointment to have it looked at.
