I will say this, after the dealer did what ever they did and all the computer update jazz on mine the last month, its definatly better than it was prior too the top end issues.

I've been avoiding this thread for a while to make sure I was right, but now my car seems to be working fine. Was the 1000 mile mark some magic break-in milestone? Has anyone else with this supposed issue had it vanish? I don't understand what could make it just go away one day.
To clarify I wasn't complaining about the car not performing at its peak with the AC on. That's just how it is and I realize that. I only started using the AC shortly before this thread and it was abysmal. The car bogged and strained just trying to get moving and would immediately slow when releasing the gas. A good example was when a light ahead turned red and everyone else hit their brakes to slow down but I didn't have to...
Now it feels good. I can definitely feel the drag on the engine but I have zero trouble driving around. Overall it's barely noticeable and not as bad as it was on my old car.
Also, back to the point of this thread since this is only a supposed symptom, are there any updates for the manifold problem? Has anyone else taken theirs in to have it looked at yet? Since mine decided to behave and I've never had a CEL I think I'll just keep an eye on it. It's not like the dealer can do much if it's working now anyway.

Took mine in for an oil change and asked my dealer to take a look at there service bulletins on the sonic and they saw no record of the issue or a fix. I may try asking one of the other Chevy dealers in the area just to be sure. Also, if any of you have more specific info on the STB that would be helpful.
