I called the chevy dealer and they asked for the last 8 of my VIN and the part number and they said that part wont work on my 2012 Sonic LT

Has anyone tried the Redline kit?? I've been dying to get cruise control on my '13 hatchback. The dealer told me the same thing everyone else has heard, and they also said they doubt there will ever be a OEM kit for it. Never again will I purchase a car without the cruise control.

so this part does work now? I bought my ls hatchback in April and I had two different service guys say they couldn't do it with this steering wheel. I'm still a little skeptical.

If you have a 2013 Sonic you can add the OEM cruise Control to your Sonic.. just not the 2012s

Thanks for clarifying Danny. Do you know what the charge for installation is? I think buying it on my own is the cheaper way to go right. I found it for $286 on amazon.

Most dealers charge $29 an hour and they may milk it for a good 2 hours but i'd call and see how much it would cost and to install it.

Talked to a guy that was working on my car.. he said most dealers say Cruise Control cant be added because its just 2 much work and he said that the 2012 Sonics can get Cruise Control.. he said as far as he knows you need a new wiring harness and to flash the computer to accept the Cruise Control

Yes they would be able to, my fiancé has a 2011 cruze, yea I know it's not a sonic but it didn't come with cruise. She was able to get it added at the dealer but they replaced the steering wheel and reprogrammed the computer.

Well GM allows you to add CC to the 2013 and 2014 sonics but not 2012.. so there wont be a CC kit to buy

Screw that.. Campbell Chevrolet here does it for $25 an hour but everytime I take my car in for something it comes out with 3 problems so I take it to Payne Chevrolet and they charge $29 an hour
