Kinda a long shot, but if you know a mechanic, they might have a smoke machine.

Haven't lived in my small town long enough to know a mechanic. How does the dealer pressure test it, or do they also use a smoke machine?

I have been hearing an odd sound that wasn't there when I initially did all my engine work... Only happens when under boost, I should take a look after reading this thread

anyone think that this could be the cause of my car sometimes only building boost to about 11-12 psi at full throttle? I use an ultragauge to monitor boost and engine load. when im at full throttle and it only builds boost to 11-12 psi, it only shows up as around 75-89% engine load when at full throttle.
my intake manifold has a couple little cracks like are being shown, but I haven't tested for boost leaks yet. is there an easy way to test for leaks in the system?

A leaking manifold would probably show skewed fuel trims. The PCM will be adding fuel at idle due to unmeasured air being pulled in leading to a lean condition. And pulling fuel under boost due to measured air leaking out.
Although this might not show up on tunes that ignore the MAF sensor and use speed-density calculations instead.

If your not tuned, then that would most likely be the ecu deciding how much torque it thinks you need based on temps and driving conditions. It then adjusts boost to keep your engine load at pre programmed levels.
It sucks.

I had to take my car to the dealer for the throttle positioning sensor CEL, so i mentioned the splits on the IM. They told me "it was the paint pulling away from the seam" lol? By that point i was so tired of arguing with them over the TPS issue for why i came in, that i just let it go since they weren't budging on it.

my car is tuned and should be seeing 21-22psi above 3000 rpms anytime I floor it. sometimes it would go up to about 18-19 and then fall back to about 12. also, my long term fuel trims are a bit high too, sometimes under light throttle, I have seen it as high as 17-20. that's not the short term either!
before I had the elite tune, I noticed the car not pulling the same as it did when I first tuned it, so maybe this is the culprit.
looks like I need to get a boost leak detector and do some sealing on the intake manifold.

The ones im seeing folks post looks like casting marks. Not so much splitting. Now mpfab's was certainly split. It's something to investigate, just need to start compiling info.

Topaz, I'm beginning to think my "crack" is a casting issue. My power issues turned out to be a pcv valve that was about to crap out just a couple of weeks after posting this. Fixed that and I haven't noticed any power issues. I did the super scientific soapy water spray at the IM "crack" and didn't see any bubbles. Not sure if this would work but since the IM should be under some pressure, even at idle, shouldn't the soapy water blow bubbles like when looking for a leak in a tire? Or would it draw air at idle there by needing the brake cleaner spray to reveal something?

The intake manifold is under vacuum at idle, you'd need to do the brake cleaner test instead of the soapy water test.
