That web site originally listed the phones as being phones with known problems.

Now it lists the phone as the one being validated.

my last two phone are not listed even though the s3 works just fine.

I agree gm needs to get better software guys or sub contractors. There is no reason for this other then they did not do enough testing and coding.

What a shame on this otherwise fine sonic.

And it has been a known problem for years across other gm vehicles.

Again vehicles are built to a standard set by cell compaines if there technology is slighly different and newer can cause an issue. Blame the cell companies for changing what they stated there were going to be making.... Gm is not in the Cell phone business....

But they ar about to commit themselves (or at least the MyLink equipped Sonics and Sparks) to being compatible with the cell phone makers.

This is my complaint about the site RS Turbo linked: I do not understand it.

My hope is Chevy will be more forthcoming as regards recommended cell phones when the 2013 MyLink equipped Sonics reach the market.

But I assure you, I am not holding my breath.

FYI, Bluetooth is not a standard set by cell companies. It is set by the bluetooth special interest group (SIG).

Not saying GM is bad, but if my HTC One S works with a 2005 Acura TL. Which was built 6yrs before the phone was even made, sort of points blame to poor coding of the BT stack on GM's part.

Here's my bottom line:

When a $20 speakerphone shipped from china works fine with my samsung reality, there is absolutely no reason my $19,500 Sonic shouldn't.

As I stated before, not enough testing and debugging before getting blue tooth into the car.

My link radio is produced by Panasonic it is sold to Gm and other manufactures. Every radio cant please every person. soon you will notice cd players in vehicles going away that is just the new standard. Just like cassette radios slowly going away. I have read some information and Voice recognition is not a function of this radio either, But the same family of radios (sister radio in the Verono) has voice recognition.

Car manufactures build cars for segmented class of buyers. You cant please everyone. This is the same with cell phones, androids, Apples, and Blackberrys. Each uses a different form of security in there device based on there programmed operating software. The worse bluetooth issue on GM vehicles are blackberrys. Blackberry is one of the most secure phones on the market but with this can come compatability issues. Gm does not have the time or funds to validate every single phone on the market every 6 months to see what portion of that phone will work with no issue and what will not. Then add in the added programs to these phone people add to save battery life often cycle on and off bluetooth and internet connection, looking like it is seemless to the customer and saving battery life but causes other issue with other "aftermarket devices". Blackberry, Apple, and Andriod based phones are not designed and manufactured alike just as Car manufactures radios are not as well.....

The MyLink radio is from a family known as Bring your own media radio. It is the most advanced radio for this type of application and is compatible with the most avaliable media types on the market. It is really very cool...

Curve 9350 works for Bluetooth. Haven't tried with music/streaming yet...

I have a crappy prepaid phone with bluetooth, it connects but when i make a call it gives me a buzzing sound through the speakers.Is that a phone problem or a car problem?

Probably a phone problem.
Easy to figure out - You have friends? One has to have a BT phone, make them pair up and find out.

Today I got in my car and made a phone call, to my surprise my phone book had synced to the car. Same Phone Tmobile my touch 4g. Very happy!!!!

My Nokia Lumia 900 will either make calls or play audio, not both at the same time. I have to disable one to use the other without the audio lagging and being patchy. Nokia claims its my phone that's the problem and is replacing it... so we'll see.

Well it turns out the issues I was having with my phone and the bluetooth was being caused by a faulty radio and bluetooth module.

The dealership ordered a 2013 sonic radio and bluetooth module and will be swapping mine out when it gets in. I'll post again and let you guys know if it works after they swap the radio.

If they ordered a 2013 radio will it be able to be modified to use mylink?

I doubt it. From other stuff I've read it's not possible, which is okay with me because I don't want a MyLink anyway. I'm just getting the regular bluetooth radio from a 2013 LT, just like the one in my 2012 LT.

Works for BT calls and for Pandora/streaming. BTW, did a USB stick and it was very quick - no random/search, however, at least not that I've found yet...

Don't know if this was posted yet-but may be useful to know. When I have the iPhone bluetoothed the voice from the phone does not work. This was an issue when I wanted to use navigation from my phone. So, I hooked it via USB, run it as an iPod and it works!
