To make the usb stick play random, push the right nob on the stereo and I think the option for random is there. Will check later to make sure it's right.

Jster - I have same phone - OTA 4.0.4 update applied today, HTC One S now works flawlessly (and pairs faster with the headunit at vehicle start up). Audio Streaming, Voice Dialing using the stock voice dialer - everything. I do hope we get JellyBean (4.1.2 or better) but, hey, Tmobile fixed in bro - go try.
So add to the list HTC One S (Tmobile) with ICS 4.0.4 (earlier versions hands free calling did not work).

I'm not sure if it's posted anywhere else on the forums, I searched and didn't find it. So I'm not sure if everyone is aware of the bluetooth update from GM via OnStar. I have an HTC One V (Virgin Mobile). My phone would work on the bluetooth but audio never would. I heard of this update and called OnStar, I didn't have an active account either. They completed the update and I got 30 days free basic OnStar. Now my phone connects for the handset and music! Love it!
Here's the info I found: The software update, according to the GM, will modify the current Bluetooth hands-free calling system to recognize most current smartphone technology and maintain the connection. In addition, the update will be available through OnStar at no charge until September 30, 2016. And if an owner does not have a current OnStar subscription, one will be provided free of charge for 30 days.
My phone wasn't even on the list for the updated for devices but it's also not a full list. To update you just hit your OnStar button, tell them you want the bluetooth update. Takes about 10 mins for the car to receive the update. You're done from there.

anyone know if a ZTE Merit works. I use straight talk because I don't like having monthly cellphone bills, i'm going to upgrade my old phone because It doesn't work with my sonic. the contacts work and everything it just makes a buzzing sound when i try to call or receive a call. so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the
ZTE Merit, Samsung Proclaim or Motorola Defy XT, those are the choices I have to choose from.

Samsung Transform Ultra works as a phone, I haven't tried it as a music player since I have Sirius XM on the car.
On 2012's the Connectivity package comes with the Cruise Control, if you don't have CC you don't have Connectivity, and vice versa. Since CC is needed for Select-a-tune, I had to have it... the connectivity turns out to be a nice free bonus, is the way I look at it.
As for the "download available thru Onstar" thing, wow, that really sucks. I mean, OK, I already had Onstar crammed down my throat by the dealer, so it's too late for me, but plenty of other paranoids were lucky enough not to have the dealer do them that "favor". But now in order to maintain the on board devices, we have to hook up with evilcorp like it or not? Rant mode ON! Is there an alternative, like downloading something to a flash drive?

hmae37, Thanks for posting about the update. I have intermittent issues with my RAZR only connecting the phone and not the music. I have to manually connect the music, and sometimes takes multiple tries. I tried to get the update, but Onstar said I have to wait until tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully this will make the bluetooth work more reliable.

Glad to help! Since I've mainly posted about my Sonics issues I figured I should contribute something positive. Lol I did wait until after I got the update myself and used it several times. It's been fantastic. Some info I found said that GM sent out a letter for this update, however I never got one but knew mine needed the update. It is for pretty much 2012 models that have the OnStar equipped. But when I talked with OnStar when asking for the update, they didn't ask about a letter or how I heard about it, they promptly verified my info and started the temp acct, advised me how long the update would take and what would happen if successful and not. I threw in there in the beginning that I heard about it from my dealer. They didn't even mention an ok or anything else. It was not a public announcement for the update. Hope it helps
@swordsmith- You do not have to have a current account to get the update. My account expired after the free trial in May. Never reactivated. Simply press the button, Mon-Fri as it sounds from Maddog, ask for the bluetooth update. No strings. No conspiracy. Hope that helps.
@Kuntryboy865- My suggestion is stick with the Samsung. It's a more common brand throughout multiple carriers so it'll be most likely updated than the others. Just a thought. Then do the update and try it.
Once updated I did on my phone have to do separate device searches to my car for both phone and music. My phone now has 2 paired "devices" for my car. One says phone(audio) and the other says "GM Music Device" (it automatically found it named that way. But it's listed as 2 separate connections. When I turn on my bluetooth however it does pair both to the car automatically. And when changing audio sources in the car I know how a bluetooth option, to which I didn't before. Hope this helps for people who get the update and can't figure out how to make it work. I thought it was strange the way it did....

Well, I finally remembered to call Onstar (got reminded in another thread). Since my Onstar is still active from the trial, they said I automatically get the bluetooth updates. I guess I'll have to live with manually connecting the music each time on my RAZR. It was worth a try.
BT Voice Recognition iPhone 5
Any using mylink with an iPhone 5? I can't get bluetooth voice recognition to work. I've been through the owner's manual but no go. Phone is paired, touch screen calls can be made, but when I press the steering wheel talk button it just pulls up the onscreen phone. I never hear the "READY". Everything else works fine.

Mine works but I have to say the phone number, it won't pull the name out of my contact book. If I say "call John" it won't call 554-1234 it will call "413" for some reason. Every time I say a name, it dials only 3 letters unless I just say the whole phone #.
