Clutch pedal clicking

wow. So it's been like a year since i was on the site here. Seeing so many people with the same issues I've had since day 1 in my car, is actually making me dislike my car even more. I had figured I just got a Friday afternoon car, obviously not.

Next thing I'll find is a bunch of people who also feel a misfire at idle in their 1.4L like i complained about to the dealer. Sometimes, even causing the idle to drop significantly. "unable to duplicate"...

Sonic is great on paper. But, next time I'm buying a new car, I'll go back to my usual brands from Japan.

I think I speak for most of us when I say we don't need assistance, Erica, we need you guys to find out why this is happening so we can fix it, it is rather annoying.

I have had my entire pedal assembly changed out by the dealer.

Was good for a few weeks, but it came back.

yup, I'm having it (still)..mostly I don't notice it, but it's just enough at times to be annoying...on a side note to that, I sure hope the next gen Sonic has a much lower clutch engagement point, ours are so high up...you can't make a smooth transistion a lot of the times...

That is certainly a fair question. We are checking into this with some different internal departments, once I have more information I will let everyone know.

I'll second this along with fix the stabilizer links so they stop failing constantly. Having to replace them every 100K is fine, but every 10-20K? Unacceptable.

My clutch squeels when pressed and released. It sounds more when its warm out. The service tech this am told me that it comes from where the spring hooks onto the pedal. It dries out and rubs when its pressed. A little WD 40 and no more noise. When it comes back, I'll spray more on it. Over and over and over...... oh well!

WD40 is more of a cleaner than a lubricant and shouldn't be used as a lubricant.

Well one day later the squeeks are back. Not dealing with this every other day. Ill be taking this to a different dealer!

Mine only clicks when I release it quickly. It makes a faint noise when pressing, but it's not noticeable when driving.

This issue is annoying, but it's not bad enough for me to take it to the dealer.

Mine never was either but I have them fixing a few other things as well.
I'm creeping up on 36K

I might take it in before my 36k is up, too. Although, my pedal's squeaking has diminished greatly since it's warm out now.

It is.

We had an ice storm (two, actually) this winter and for a week straight it never got above freezing. I thought about buying ice skates to walk to dog that week.
