Cx racing intercooler kit!!!!

I think a valid test would be if you ran the track a couple different days after the IC swap..... If you can get a 14.75 with no other mods, I will be convinced that the IC kit is beneficial.opcorn:

Sounds like a plan. I agree that the intercooler will be junk tho. I belive that the tubes, and intake will make a nice upgrade for any sonic turbo, and the price is worth just those. The intake and charge tubes are specific for the 1.4T sonic, meaning that these were custom fabricated just for the sonic. The intercooler is just an off the shelf "universal" piece that happened to fit our cars. It is also a tube and fin , which is not near as efficient as a bar and plate. A better intercooler is out there for sure, but for now these r the best tubes available.

Sorry i've been M.I.A. for a while... work has been killing me lately, going on over a month without a day off :/

As far as the CX kit goes, i have noticed that from roughly 2700 rpm's and up its got more of a jump to the acceleration, but in rpm's lower than that it is hindered. So if i want a good start i have to launch off the line.

i have not been able to dyno to give 100% stats on this. I hope to get a day off in the next month or so, and throw it up on the dyno... if so, i will post results up here.

i promise to visit the site more and give as much feedback as possible

the fitment was great. i did not personally install it. but plenty of clearance and is snug in there (in a good way)

my car was the prototype that they used, and i have since put on 20k miles with not one issue.

Please Please stay far away. Can only imagine the junk Chinese turbos and manifold that will come with these kits. You'll crack the manifold just looking at it and I wouldn't trust that junk turbo spinning it by hand.

Hell they have a so called GT35 turbo on their site for $300. HAHAHAHA What a crock

Thank you!! I think I may order it. BTW CX has plans on a bigger turbo kit

so a quick update... i just replaced my CX intake for a DDM intake, and no more lag at low rpm's.

Hmmm, this is tempting. One thing though, and I am sure there is a lot of people who have the same concern... What does it do to the warranty? Cold air intake and exhaust is one thing, but this is on a whole new level. We paid a lot of money for our warranty, is it worth risking it just yet?

If you are that worried about the warranty then don't do it.. I say this to everyone. ..

Also, I'm not convinced than an intercooler is a "whole new level" compared to an intake. The way I see it, the intercooler is not changing anything with respect to the MAF sensor, which is more critical in my book.

When you look at the variety of things that would likely go with that intercooler, e.g., intake, charge pipes, ported manifold, exhaust, tune, etc., then you're asking for warranty issues should anything go wrong.

It's kind of hard to single out which one thing is going to cross the line, but I don't think that the intercooler is high on the list.

So I emailed CXRacing and asked what the gains were on this intercooler kit. His reply was this.

"We see an average for 15-20hp gain as well as better top end, the real benefit to the kit besides the power gains is the lower egt."

I replied asking for a dyno from just their intercooler on the car, we'll see what I can get.

"We do not have the dyno chart since we weren’t given permission by the owner of the car we used to dyno it. Based on the amount of kits we’ve sold and all the feed back we’ve been getting from our customer the results are the same as what I’ve given you. If some one were to have a dyno graph of a baseline and our kit installed we will gladly post it up on our website to have that information available."

15-20hp from just an intercooler alone??? How bad is the stocker then, lol. "Just slap our IC on the car and badda bing badda boom 20 more horse!!! I no lie!!!"

Don't get me wrong, you can get gains but this is in conjunction with a tune, ect. For example I run a non-intercooled MP62 SC. If I was to intercool it I could get another 50 horses BUT this is with a new tune along with a few other goodies.
