Deleted my badging first week. Applied 3M carbon fiber vinyl to bow ties. Just looks cleaner.

I just debadged mine with floss and some goo-gone. Took a while to get the gunk off but no heatgun or hairdryer is really needed to get them off. Came off pretty easy with just floss and it's not a hot day at all here.

One of my first mods I did. I had a hair dryer - only really used it to loosen up the glue after popping the emblems off, the letters come off easy with your finger and fishing line. Use goo-gone, and not Goof-off. Wash it after and you're good to go.

I de-badged mine, Without checking anywhere first. Now i have a coin slot where the Bowtie was. ive Considered putting a $.50 Sticker as a joke. I bought an Autobot badge to see what it would look like and it wont look right. So im looking for something cool, in the meantime my coin slot is exposed.

I've envisioned something like this for a while as well. In my head I imagine that since the rear badge has posts wrecking my beautiful inferno paint, somehow converting one of those chevy light up tow hitch covers to fit the post holes and piggy back the wiring for the third brake light.

Taking it one step further, I've also imagined an oval (strictly to cover both posts) that has some sort of lighted fist with extended middle finger that I'd wire to a toggle on the dash so I can subtly dish out at will what so many on our highways deserve....especially those bastard step children lurking in MY left lane and doing the speed limit!!!

I like the badges on the hatch RS but on my sedan they're all over the place. I think they need to come off. Especially the turbo. I want a sleeper. Anyone want a Sonic badge or a turbo badge? I'm keeping the RS.

Don't worry. After complete debadging, nobody will mistaken your car for a Lamborghini.

I am considering using the black vinyl to black out my bowtie badge. I've seen videos of people doing this on other cars and it looks very easy, however I noticed that all the videos I've seen of people blacking out their bowtie the chevy symbol is smooth. On the 2014 Sonic at least its not a smooth surface, its textured.

My question is will laying the vinyl on this non-smooth surface result in it coming off or will it look weird?

From my experience - was pulled over 4 times in the sonic since I've bought it. Once going around a turn too fast, once for 'rolling' a stop sign. Twice for speeding. Was let off three of the four times and one of the times speeding I got a reduced citation. I'm pretty sure cops just see a new Aveo when they look at a sonic. Too bad it doesn't have an Aveo badge, probs would've been let off all 4 times.
