If I didnt have a cat that likes to leave hairballs and another that leaves shed hair all over everything, I would have a Zebra rug on the floor.

I have some rodent skull and a small wild pig skull displayed on a bed if empty rifle, pistol and some shotgun cartridges. I find a good bit of bones and skulls while hiking. Some are cool, so I bring home, clean up and make some pseudo art with it.

How is that for oddball?

I have a collection of skulls, one shoulder mount, and two rugs from trips I have been on. Damn Zebra rug cost me about $1200 between trophy fee and taxidermy, but I didnt want to buy one in a store.

Some time last week one of the shops carts disappeared on the job. Yesterday it was found. Apparently the Millbillies decided to steal it, try to hide the fact it was another contractors property, disable it in a way they would be able to fix, and give it a paint job.

Here is our custom paint, graphic, chrome trim, red wheel, and white wall tire cart now.

At the end of shift yesterday they came looking for it when they thought that nobody was around. They seemed rather pissed that it was locked up. How dare the employees of the company that owns it reaquire company property and lock it up so that two fat ****s cant use it all night.

It was gone this morning. They cut the lock and steel choker that were securing the cart. Needless to say GM has been informed of the theft. Turns out they also stole a miller bobcat welder from the pipe fitters.

No way. I'm not sure how your local operates, but they would not be employed much longer in our facility for sure.

Do you mean stole and in literally stole, or have been commandeering for their own unapproved use type of thing?

at this point with cutting the lock, I think it's irrelevant.

Depends on the bargaining unit, but you're right. My plant would agree with you, but some locals will really fight to the death on things that (imo) they shouldn't.

The double edged Union sword: you can protect and fight for those that deserve it, but it opens you up to almost having to do the same for those that don't, unfortunately.

I grew up in a UAW family, my grandfather was a committeeman and I'm 4th Gen GM employee, so I know how it goes- although I'm the first to be non-union, so not as well as Mitdr does.

I was in the carpenters union for a short time until my arthritis got bad enough that I decided to leave.

I can't imagine someone stealing things like that and it being ignored. Perhaps things are a little different in the Detroit area right now?

Well, that's why I asked about the 'stealing' verbage. Loaded it up and took it home? Yeah you're fired. But I know guys in my plant throw the word 'stole' around when talking about guys from different departments borrowing equipment. That would be much different. Dickish, but not fireable.
