I work for an electrical contractor. This cart belongs to my employer. The millwrights work for the general contractor that another crew, from the shop I work for, is working under. The crew I am in works under a different general contractor. The first time they stole the cart it was obvious that they had no intention of returning it. They tried to remove the company information from it, tried to disguise it, hid it, and tried to disable it. This time they tried to cut the lock off and then cut through the steel choker that was locking it up.We did not see it today so I am guessing that it is either in a dumpster, off the site, or they had an operator stash it up high somewhere.
They also stole a Miller Bobcat welder, two gas axe rigs, and some other items from the pipe fitters. Our GM plant liasion (sp) is aware of the issue and is causing them some trouble. My guess is that this may very well cost this general contractor a lot of future work at GM facilities and those directly involved in the theft will probably be bared from stepping into another GM facility for life.
