Had me some fun today with my sonic. was out and about in the town north of me and was coming back thru the back roads and got stuck behind some slow pokes for a minute. During that point, i look in my rearview mirror and theres a Dark Blue Tinted Ford Fiesta ST. once i got to the light to turn left, the slowpoke in front of me went straight so i got away from that vehicle finally when i went left.
I noticed the Fiesta ST was going left too, so, i decided to have some fun with it. see if it would play along. When i turned and took off i got into my sonic and went. Right on cue that ST took off to follow me. No passing in that area so it couldnt go around lol. Got up to the next stop just down that stretch. I get in the right turn lane, it follows. So, again, i launched my sonic. I pulled away thru the first couple gears. then it caught back up in no time flat.
Get to the side road i needed, turning left, I slow down to make the turn and notice the ST had its turn signal on too lol. So, again, i said lets see if it follows suit, and it did, i turned and launched it again, i pulled away on it at first, and then the ST caught up but traffic was steady the other way so it couldnt go around even if it wanted to lol. Next stop i lauched, pulled away from it, it caught up for a minute then turned off a little down that road.
Was alot of fun though. not sure how hard it was pushing the car at first on each launch, but if it was pushing hard at first throughout the whole time, it didnt catch speed until it hit 3rd gear. first two gears it dragged ass. Likely didnt know how to drive it id say seeing how i have a 1.8L with only an intake and exhaust on it, no tune and those Fiesta ST's have a turbo engine in it. Fun none the less reguardless lol. Im sure that Fiesta was wondering what i had in my sonic that it took off so well.

So a few things to check on the scooby.
1) bad coil. They can crack and arc out when they get hot. Wait till dark, get the car hot, and spray water from a glass cleaner like bottle around the coil and wires. It will light up like crazy.
2) stuck injector. Can happen only when hot. You'll find good spark, but really wet plug.
3) problems inside the motor: valve sticking, HG leaking coolant,
Unless the miss is in all cylinders, it's probably not ecm related. And yes, scoobies run in closed loop until it heats to a certain temp. FYI, there are 2 temp sensors; a one wire and a 2 wire. The one wire goes to the ecm. The 2 wire is for the gauge. Codes would be very helpful though....

I feel ashamed.
Car is on pieces, wife is off with her Honda, Harley is broken... Again... Had to take the shadow to work. Froze my butt off on the ride home.
But the little friends in the fridge and knowing I'm off for the next 9 days makes it all better

No good, but the pay check will be nice. I am kind of a OT whore. 14 hours tomorrow would be amazing.
On a side note, GM might want to rethink how they plan out their buildings. Its great for me to have to do temporary (6-7 months probably) generator hook ups, but this wont be cheap for GM. I guess a lot of buildings flooded and they lost substations.
4/0 weld cables are some heavy bastards to lug around and run from a generator on the ground to a roof top air house. Three parallel feeds.
