Wish I was still hourly so I could get OT. Been salary for years.
P0341, P1133 are the codes.
thanks! I'll look into that.Cam position sensor and front O2 sensor, in that order. Problem is; that first code isn't saying that the cam sensor is bad, it's saying that your timing is off. That is most commonly caused by the TB jumping teeth. You should probably open up the TB covers and check things out. Gates makes a good kit that comes with the belt, tensioner, and all of the idlers. TCK304. Amazon usually has the best price. I have a used kit in my garage with 39k miles on it I'll sell for beer money. I changed out everything when I did my wife's HG's.

Recommended change interval is 105k miles. ALWAYS, ALWAYS change the idlers and tensioner when doing the job. When they fail, it is almost always a bearing or tensioner that fails, thus taking out the belt and grenading the motor. It IS an interference motor. The water pump is always a topic of argument. I don't change them at 105k, but I do at 210k.
Is the 1.4 an interference motor? I assume it is.
81k miles. How many miles are on that Subaru?
Curious how long the timing belts typically last before jumping or breaking on the non-turbo models.
Yes,
But the 1.4 is chain driven.
I'm asking about Subaru because a family member has a 2010 Impreza and he's at like 110K right now on the original belt. We're holding out because he should be dumping the car in a month or two for several reasons. He drives fairly slow, engine never runs fast and I'm guessing the belt could hold out to 120-130K under the right conditions especially since it's not that old age wise.
Thoughts?
depends on the railroad track, but yes.Can a 2014 Impala go airborn if your going 40 and go over a railroad track? I got wreckless driving bc he says the car went air born and I was driving the speed limit.. The car is a boat and it did not go airborn
sounds like a decent discount. It's a $1500 repair at most shops. If it hasn't been done, any educated buyer will want that off of the price. If you can DIY, it's $150 and an afternoon. It's not hard, but you don't want to screw it up either. My dealer told me that the chain on our cars is a lifetime part. I find that a bit hard to believe. Oh, and FWIW, Subaru's change interval is 105k miles or 105months, which ever comes first. As for holding off, it's a really expensive gamble. It WILL bend valves and mar up the piston faces if it lets go.

There's the large part of the issue, no?
