It sounds like that T-fitting that's next to the vacuum solenoid for the BPV that everyone's bypassing. If more people find it leaking, it might be worthwhile for Chevy to admit there is a problem with the car.
I get that smell of coolant as well occasionally and I've been monitoring it as well and have a question.
The coolant reservoir has a over flow on the right side of it. Is it possible to leak if you do hard right turns which makes the coolant slide to that side? Or is the pressure inside won't make it over flow out?
The reason I ask is because I get the smell of coolant only when I have it topped off to max but once it gets low I notice the smell is not there anymore.
