Front Stabilizer Links

Even the metal ones fail. I highly doubt that the style of pivot joint used (like a ball joint) is intended to be loaded the way that they are as an end link.

Had the new stabilizer links put on today...compared them to the old ones and didn't see much difference... I'm at 8,000 miles and haven't had any noises or anything but figured I should get the new ones put on before I have an issue.

I'm gonna have to go get mine checked out. No noises so far at 24k mi, but new links are new links and I like new ;p

Thanks for the link Ubryaj! I saw this type of thing a lot when I was a tech at BMW, basically if it wasn't a big safety issue the problem fell under a service bulletin and the updated parts would only been installed upon a customers complaint

Sonic007- that's my thoughts, with either the right service manger and/or technician or awhole lot of persuasion it is likely. I've done warranty repairs that could easily be denied. A lot depends on the shop

I wonder if because theres a recall on the factory part if i can say it doesnt matter about the springs because it was bad from factory.

If it took the tech an hour to install the links from the minute he got the car to finishing the job (parts on hand) that's long. If it was an hour total at the dealer not so bad

Took me about 20 minutes in my driveway. Its a poor design. Has been since the first time this style was used.

Mine were replaced at about 15k miles. Up to 30k now and I believe I hear that same grinding noise again, just hate to sit at a dealership all day

My dealer only had one of the links in stock so it could take awhile if they have to get the parts from another dealer.

I go in on Thursday! For this and other things...i have loaner car setup already! I hope they have the part! Lol..also wipers not clearing windshield front or back mot contacting windshield..also our muffler is rusty as heck! If they wont replace, I will sand, prime, paint with rust oleom rust proof high temp paint! Will let you all know! G

No they Dont have to it has nothing to do with aliment

Thanks! Good to know!!! The reason I asked..I am having this done Thursday, not really having any issues...but like most have said. get it done before its an issue! However, out of all the GM cars I have owned; this thing has the best steering wheel alignment and control ever!!! I sure as hell don't want them messing that up!
