Yea, you'll have to use a heat gun, or open oven to heat/separate your lens housings.
(They replace the lamp units)
The resistors are there to stop you from getting a CEL.
basically the lamp system believes if the amps/resistance is too low that you burned out a bulb.
(Something designed to be helpful becomes a PITA)
My least favorite part is that switching to LED isn't just for looks, it brings down current draw. (yay!)
But putting in resistors literally burns away power as wasted heat so you're right back to square one.
Can't wait to see it V, need a hand installing em this weekend?

I'm porting the intake this weekend and if my injectors and tune make it, I'll be going e85.
The LED project will happen when I run out of more important upgrades on my list. **cough** coilovers**cough.

So I'm gonna toss the taillight in the oven. I'm thinking 140 deg for 15 mins ought to do it. I'm going for medium rare.

I had to abort mission, when my wife came home early. She is very neurotic when it comes to kitchen hygiene, and probably would never use the oven again if she knew what I was doing.
Isn't it ironic that while most men fear their wives walking in on them with another woman, I fear mine walking in on me with my taillight in the oven.

Good luck with the bake. Hopefully its not the same perma-seal like on the headlights. I got an extra pair to do a retrofit and tried 250 for 10 and it still wouldn't budge, put it back in for another 10 and the plastic wanted to deform rather than the seal separate..... I stopped and ended up cutting them apart.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm thinking lower temp for longer time, like a pot roast. But I'll post my findings in a write-up.
I tested the LEDs on a spare battery. HELLA BRIGHT. Although I'm wondering why the brake LEDs are red, because the brake lens is red. Kind of redundant, but it does make me dream about finding a way to fuse a clear lens on now that I know the lights will be red.
