I, for one, do not feel like I missed out by purchasing a 2012 lt for under 17k with the turbo. I do see myself looking into a one-off rs grill in the future if I don't get around to a diy bumper cover delete in the meantime. Also, 4-wheel discs sure do look nice, but as I'm not the type of driver to abuse my brakes I doubt I'll be feeling any difference there either. All things considered, the RS is a pretty little thing, but I've seen prettier rides here on the forum, each with their own personality.

suspension, final drive, gearing are what appear to be the biggest performance boost

I for one am looking forward to buying a RS. However I have to ask "WTH GM WHERE IS THE EQUIVILENT TO THE FOCUS ST??" Bring over the Vauxhaull Corsa VXR and rebadge it as a damn Sonic. I have always been a GM guy BUT I hate how they are not countering the Focus and soon to be Fiesta ST line. Damn GM and their tardiness

You are probably correct unless the Fiesta ST does well. There would have been no Camaro is the Mustang had flopped. And it is possible for a car to flop, remember the Edsel would have been a contemporary of the two if Ford had been able to convince the market it was wanted.
So while I generally do not cheer for the blue oval, in this case I am willing to make a situation.

Probably but we will not know for sure until Chevy releases the 2013 Sonic order guide. Since 2013 Sonic orders are tentatively scheduled to be accepted June 14 or thereabouts, I am expecting the order guide to go up any day.

I'm not 100% sure but I think its going to be a trim all by itself. I see it as 1LS, 2LS, 1LTZ, 2LTZ, RS. If your a smart shopper you can get a top LT(Z) for as cheap as $17k. I could have has a White LTZ with black interior with sunroof fully loaded hatch for $17k OTD. Told him I wanted a RS after the test ride though.

And that means what? At the dealers? Or are you talking on chevy website to "build your RS" so to speak?
