I couldn't agree more. Not to mention I think the Sonic sedan is just ugly. Don't know how GM could get it right with the hatch, but get it so wrong with the sedan.

Everyone has their own taste , for me the sedan made more sense . A sonic in inferno orange has to be the worst eye sore out there .

Don't know why you feel you need to make this personal. Just because a sedan made more sense doesn't make it any less ugly. As for the Inferno Orange, you would have to take that up with my wife. It's her car and her color choice. Myself, I don't care, so your jab missed the mark.

Totally disagree. I do NOT like the hatchback - but then again I dont like any hatchback (wagons are different, wagons are awesome).
I didnt want a Cruze though because everyone and their mother has a Cruze and I dont see NEARLY as many Sonics - then I dont see NEARLY as many sedans. Plus the Sonic is about a billion times sportier than the Cruze and I got the LTZ auto loaded up for what an LT 1.8 Cruze goes for. I would have done orange if we had one when I was looking but Im totally happy with my Crystal Red.
Everyones got their own taste - but the backend of the Sonic sedan doesnt look bad. I mean its not flashy but theres nothing ugly about it.
Anyways - I vote sedan.

I purchased the Sedan because I couldn't get passed the taillights on the hatchback. I was pleasantly surprised with the plethora of trunk space in the sedan. Turns out I utilize it often.
The only color the hatch lights look remotely good on is black because the black bits around the lights blends in with the paint.

Eric Smit will be appalled and probably ban you when he reads this, his love for inferno orange is well established
I personally don't mind the orange but the sonic definitely looks better in other colors, like say the sexy blue. I got orange because it was the only sonic within 300 miles with the desired options.
I forgot to mention one other small perk of the hatch.
Loading and unloading basic cargo is easier and more ergonomic. Open the hatch and toss in the goodies versus leaning over to set them in the trunk.
Not really a big advantage or certainly not a selling point but it is nice.
That's funny, one of the things I like about the hatch are the rear lights and the thing I don't like about the Sedan is the back end.

Test drove a LTZ sedan.... felt too much like a "mom" car...Since I've been driving either SUVs and even a mini-van in the past, I was OVER the mom-mobiles...my kids are 12 and almost 6, so my stroller days are over. I wanted something sporty looking that FELT fun for ME to drive. My RS Hatch 6sp has accomplished that for me! Plus, it just looks cool in our driveway/ garage to have two RS' sitting side by side.
Let's all be happy we have super cool Sonics and not Civics

I wanted a hatch because do thought they looked cool. I ended up with a sedan because the money and mileage all worked out better. I love my sedan. Recently I drove my sisters rentacar (2013 ltz hatch). Drove the same as far as I could tell but that trunk is crazy small. The trunk in the sedan is massive for it being a smaller vehicle. So I'm glad with my decision.

I'm a function over form guy. 15's take my vote, less weight = more controlled suspension, better mpg, better acceleration.
