I think it would cost far more to do than to just turbo the 1.8. Probably illegal to import and use without having it certified. Then again if you live in a state that does not check it is not an issue. The few that I came across were listed for anywhere from 2500 British pounds to 4000 Euros. I do not know the exact conversions but it is a fairly crappy conversion. I think it is about $1.60 to one British pound. I just want the manifold to see about having modified.

Z20LEH, or LET if you are going to go through the trouble. That's what our Vauxhall brothers from across the pond get stock and it will bolt right up to the M32 trans and hold 400+hp on stock internals.

Honestly, I think you should pave the way on the 1.8 out of benevolence.
There is a lot of interest here, but it seems too intimidating to most.

At least you could do the very minimum to get your 1.8 boosted and tuned, so others can see how doable it is.

For me the plan is a full build for a reliable 225-250 WHP, so a low pressure turbo on stock internal is not going to work. Going to a full pay job now will allow for more funds to be freed up to start collecting parts.

For some reason it just never crossed my mind to go with a british 2.0 and have the ability of a 400hp plus build... Like i said i promise everyone i will do my 1.8 turbo first. But i do want to build a swap engine and instead of searching for a 1.8 specifically it seems theres some more options out there.. thats all i was implying

Im trying to keep my cool as i check my email about 50 times a day hoping the good peeps at bnr locate me a flange!!!
At which point the work will commence. But at the current moment im slightly stuck my friends... I need to whip up a mani... To do so i need a flange aghhhhh the suspense is killing me! Lol

Soon enough ill have a flange i hope and then the fun shall continue

Any local shop with a CNC should be glad to do it if you bring them the stock pattern.

In fact there was a guy here on the forum that made a batch and offered them. That's when it became apparent that most people were all talk.

Hopefully someone can chime in with who that was. I can't seem to remember the guy's name.

EDIT: it was pat, and it was for the 1.4. You might want to try contacting him. You may be waiting a long while on BNR. They make some parts, but are more of a parts distributor.

Re introduction for people that didnt know. I run vmc, horizontals and lathes everyday basically.. i cant do manual but i have access to cnc machines and i know how to use them... Does some one have a blueprint of that flange? And what type of material and thickness have been used before with good results.. i dont have a spare and i dont wanna pull my mani to blueprint it. Maybe if pat or one of you guys can put up a print or whip up a quick drawing just somethin i can get rollin... Sidenote... If u have a program youd like to share id giggle like a little girl and go run 10 of em off

Neither of the above. That particular flange appears to be for 2.0/2.2/2.4 ecotecs.

There are not, to my knowledge, any production flanges for either the 1.4 or 1.8.

I'm not suggesting you pay $250 just for a cast, but if 2 popped up on my first look, more will likely appear cheaper, and regularly. Keep checking eBay.

I will keep an eye out on ebay or any fellow 1.8 members have a stock mani layin around i could borrow? And ill ship it back when i print it? A bit of money to ship back and forth is better than buying one.

The stock mani is attached to the 2nd cat. It would be a pain to ship back and forth.

Oh that's right. A couple members have swapped to an aftermarket header and have the stocker just laying around.

If they don't want to part with it, they could trace the flange and bolt pattern, measure the bolt hole diameter, and even impression trace the ID of the runners, roll up the sketch and mail it to you at a very minimal cost.

An OEM manifold gasket is $10 at the dealer. Wouldnt that make a good enough template to get the dimensions from for a flange? Probably cheaper than shipping a complete manifold back and forth.
