I thought the cam shaft ran off an internal belt/chain that was turned by the crank and the crank drives all accessories (which would include the S/C'r).
Correct.

Yes, crankshaft. Pardon my senior moment.

The several years I lived near the corner of Page and Central in San Francisco during the late sixties to early seventies started catching up to me some time ago. Forgetting things such as in what thread I posted say a link serves as a reminder.

I would be ecstatic to see a forced induction 1.8 Sonic. Even 6lbs of supercharged boost should get 30 to 35hp at the wheel. Engine internals should be good up to 8lbs, one does not need an intercooler if 8lbs or less and not need a blow off valve if at 6lbs of supercharged boost. A centrifugal would not need a new intake manifold but I believe a Roots would in part cause it sets on top of the engine.
This is a thread about supercharging a 1.8 Sonic so turbocharging should be considered in its own thread.
Yeah I am a UofM grad and my first acid trips would have been in Ann Arbor. People forget LSD was legal at one time, so your "dig" seemed less a dig and more a fairly good assessment to me. One can't get upset when faced with a truth.
