Your RSM kit would have been driven off of the intake cam if you had a 2.4L LD9 or a 2.2L L61
I had the GMPP M45 on my 2.4L and it was a blast to drive.

It was a 2.2 Ecotec in a 2003 Cavalier.
So maybe it was not a senior moment of forgetfulness. I was certain Zolt (who along with his father did the install) Szabo said camshaft when explaining what they were going to do.
Here is a picture of the setup minus the idler pulley taken when I broke the idler pulley so RSM could figure out which part to send:

I do not know and am not sure if I ever knew.
RSM in Canada went out of business several years ago but for a while continued in Chicago as RSM-USA but a google search yesterday had an empty web page. Empty as no product, no history and no contact info.

The RSM kits mounted where the powersteering pump was mounted. This was the end of the intake camshaft. they put the drive pulley for the S/C between the end of the cam and the pump. I dont recall if anyone ever had a problem from it, but it was spectlated that this put a lot of stress on the cam shaft and its related components that could cause premature wear.

My Cavalier was at 3000 miles when the supercharger was installed in July 2003 and I had no problems with it when I let it go w/ 59000 miles in March 2010, other than the idler arm, which was a result of hitting a 2x4 on I-75 at speed which also destroyed a wheel. The Cavalier had polyprophelene upper and lower engine mounts installed with the supercharger as well as RKSport front and rear strut bars and lower chassis brace. I suspect the added stiffness would have helped to preserve the camshaft longevity. As I recall RSM recommended the engine mounts specifically for that purpose.
So, if anyone installs a supercharger using a camshft to drive the pulley it would seem changing engine mounts would be the order of the day. The chassis is already quite stiff so an under carriage brace (should one be developed) may not be necessary but if I was doing the mod I would look for one or have a speed shop fabricate one.

gm e78 ecu for the 1.4L turbo
I suggest contacting Trifecta Performance, who already have a tune developed for the naturally aspirated 1.8L and also have a very popular tune developed for the 1.4T.

I for one would much rather see what the 1.8 is capable of NA... intake, header-back exhaust, cams, some head work, and a tune (especially to bump up the rev limiter a bit). Do all the other bolt-ons too- underdrive pulleys, lightweight flywheel, etc. Maybe even add some forged high-comp pistons/rods.
170-180 n/a horses would be a hoot.

Screamer, I agree that NA would be fun as Hell, but it's also prohibitively expensive for most people as it would require tearing the engine apart for more than a weekend. 
I'm going with C2 because, not only do us 1.8 guys need more options, I lived their tunes on my VWs.

The tvs roots ( gen 1-2 ) out preform most twinscrew at the moment unless something changed
But overall twinscrew is better
But at this minimum boost level anything is fine
So far imho
Either do the 1.8 Cruze kit
Or I believe seeing something about a 2l supercharged that gm made and going from there
