What year Sonic? If you've got a 2013... then I'm going this route. If it's a 2014.. then it was programmed to work that way.

I am right there with ya was directed to post my question here instead of interior and ICE section....I do not want to re-post on here and just perpetuate the madness. I have searched to the best of my knowledge...and have not been able to find any answers. It is frustrating because I am sure my question on ones similar have been answered.
I hope there is a solution soon !!! The moderators agree it needs to be fixed...it will happen.

Mine is a 2013.
It will be a slow process. I have limited time to complete it at the moment. I'll keep this thread updated as progress moves along...

So basically to get the rear camera to work, just need to plug into the 3.5mm jack in the glove box, use the appropriate adapter to break out the proper signal from the Y-R-W cable, and 12 volt power (reverse light as a trigger) to the camera, done. Right?

Correct. Some backup cameras will come wired with power and additional reverse sensor for the head unit. Normally it wouldn't matter if your camera had separate power, since the reverse sensor is what will trigger the head unit to switch inputs. In this case, since you are needing the actual camera power to trigger the input...you will need to wire both the power and reverse trigger wire to a reverse triggered power source. I suggest you tap into the reverse light power wire near the tail light assembly. If it is a single powered camera, you will be set just tapping the reverse light wires also.
Also, I would recommend this camera.

MyLink Bluetooth Audio Delay
Searched for the topic; found some other posts about it, but nothing giving an accurate description of why its doing this...
The only other Sonic I've been in is one without MyLink, but I didn't get to see if this happened to it, if I stream a video from my phone and have the audio play through the MyLink, there is about a 3 second delay between audio and video.
System version: 13.02-95375116
Device: HTC One M7 (also had the same thing happen with my S3)
When my phone is paired with other BT devices, there is no audio lag.

It's bluetooth processing. MyLink has it worst that I have seen, but other BT devices will have it too. Watch some videos and pay attention the lipsync really close, you can see the delay. In most cases it's not enough to be a bother, but you can see it if you look for it.

There is not a Google Maps MyLink condoned by GM update but GTPprix may have one if you are interested. His thread is something along the lines of "Does Anyone Have a Spare MyLink Head Unit" if you want to look at what he can do.

Back up camera add for 13 RS
I added a backup camera to my RS. Ordered off of EBay $19 shipped with cables. The lens does not fit but I attached the camera to the chrome on the hatch, about the same position as factory. Interesting thing is that only one wire is necessary to run the camera, except power which comes off of the back up light. The yellow wire in the kit and yellow connection in the plug are all that is required.the other odd part is that the yellow feed wire from the camera has to connect to the yellow ground. The biggest challenge is to run the camera wire. I chose not to disassemble the interior any more than necessary. Works great but took a lot of time.

Are you saying you added a backup camera to the factory MyLink head unit and only had to plug it in? I didn't see any mention of using an aftermarket headunit or other items.

Backing up fast will display the warning and shut down. If you have the room to back up fast you don't need a camera
