Turbo "Kit" questions

Here is the bike now.
Here's what is made on the stock bottom end with a much larger turbo than what the production kit comes with @ 11.5psi.:banana:
Our cars have a GT14...this 250cc super moto has a GT12 on it.
I took it apart 2 summers ago, had it sleeved with a ductile iron liner, punched it out to 280cc, custom CP forged low compression(10:1), ported head..It should make 70+whp easily. Too bad I haven't had time to put it back together yet :blankface: Owning a business has lots of pros. However, free time is not one of them.

Two turbos isn't a poor mans anything.
A single twin scroll housing turbo would be significantly cheaper.
I know the post was in jest but it makes no sense.

I think maybe producing a kit with each part being able to sell separately.. for some people it would look easier to buy each part in stages.. a lot of people with sonics i wouldn't see having 2-5 grand to just throw at the car..

WR250X is a street legal, fuel injected bike. The 450 isn't street legal and only recently fuel injected. Plus...I owned the WR250X already.
Now that would most likely be possible at that price point.

.But yea overkill for actual MX work. I've ridden Heath Voss's CR 450 from X-games and It's at like 80hp. Most jumps were easy clearing at no more than 1/2 throttle and short shifting. It was retarded fast.
Can't imagine what that WR would be like on the street. Seriously sick machine.
On to the Sonic. Aside from custom builds I don't imagine much serious interest above $2k with $2.5k being the upper limit for a kit. What could you offer for that? I realize you have to make money and you're not going to be using used parts from eBay for a kit (idk how ppl can base prices for a professional kit with used parts. Wtf!).
As far as a market goes, well the Sonic is a budget car with a turbo strapped to it. I seriously doubt anyone is going to be spending $3-4k on a turbo kit when they already have a turbo.
$1500-2000 is your sweet spot, if you have a market at all that's what people will want to spend. Don't make a turbo kit, but make some kind of bundle kit. Offer intake, hard charge pipe, downpipe/midpipe, tune, and a catback exhaust for $1500.

hard charge pipe $70
downpipe/midpipe $560
tune $315
catback $600
Subtotal $1795
Discount $295
Total $1500
$1500-2000 is your sweet spot, if you have a market at all that's what people will want to spend. Don't make a turbo kit, but make some kind of bundle kit. Offer intake, hard charge pipe, downpipe/midpipe, tune, and a catback exhaust for $1500.

I like the arbitrary $295 discount...
If you just buy the parts I offer, which is:
Intake $250
Intercooler w/ charge piping $650(current discount)
Anaconda $560
Trifecta Full Tune $315
That totals up to $1775 before shipping.
That falls right in the "sweet spot" and gives a HUGE gain in power/torque.
For most, this is more than enough, which is why I offer these parts (minus the tune). From my testing, that combo will get every available pony out of the stock turbo, and do it on pump gas.:banana:
Some people will, however, want more...hence the reason for this thread.
If it makes more sense to offer a manifold/downpipe combo and let people sort the details after that, I'm cool with that too.Unless you're a competitive hill climber...

It seems like the most viable option is a header, dp, water/oil line, BOV tube turbo kit that comes with everything but the turbo for under $2000.
The only thing it that the kit would have to be turbo specific. And turbos range widely in price, power, and maybe more importantly all have different DP hook-up locations.
So, if the turbo kit (w/o turbo) were to be offered, a choice of turbo would have to be made first that will please the majority of those interested, so MPFab could use one to jig up the kit.
To that end, I'll be the first to present a reasonably low priced and common option. The Borg K03/K04.
They can be found new for under $500 and are easy to find used or rebuilt for around $300.
