Weird noise when driving

Well I work at this dealer thought I wouldn't have any issues but different service writers now and the transmission technician is a joke. Took to another dealer a couple days before all this happened and they couldn't get me in to look at it for 3weeks and they do not have a transmission guy. Contacted my dealer and they told me they couldn't get me in until November. I had to do a lot of talking to get me in on the following Monday but when the car was there all day they failed to look at it leaving me breaking down on tuesday. The shops are so far behind on warranty work and recalls that it's not even funny. So they are trying to deny every car that they can find an excuse for.

They never told me what bearing or anything else. Just said it was a bearing and they had to replace the whole tranny.

Oh okay. I know GM wants the techs to not work on the maul transmissions they usually just want them replaced. And ik because this work would probably take them more time and be a diff set of hours for the flat rate guy. And I know there isn't a rebuild kit for the trannys. But I was looking around and found the transmission bearings for 25$ new. So I am just curious as to if it would have been possible for my car not taking the dump that it did if it was as simple as changing that bearing but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I will agree that sounds like a load of bull**** of what the dealership is trying to do. you are covered under the Magnuson–Moss laws. They HAVE TO PROVE that the mods you have done to the car were the actual cause of the failure. Lowering springs are suspension and so are the wheels. if anything if you went to a lightweight set and lowered the vehicle you're actually taking less strain off the entire drivetrain as a whole. on top of that, these transmissions to begin with have problems and are notorious for failing, exactly as how you described and the dealership refused to fix something that is what should be a recalled issue, because all they want is your money essentially. (not trying to sound like an asshat or anything). GM won't recall the transmissions because of all of the other **** that they have already piled on their plates and they don't want to have to add more issues to the list cause it will cost them major money. If anything do what OP said, and call gm directly. If they brush you off you do have a right to a lawyer.
