Laborsmith - go foch yourself
... as far as that arrogant "don't whine about your life choices on here" crap you gave the first guy in my situation. Yes, my situation too.
I am revenue-restricted unlike union "counselor" retirees (you must have been a beaut... and helped pave the way for the wisconsin and similar future results). I needed to unload a 150,000 mile flawless 97 suburban in a hurry for a coast to coast trip just as gas hit four bucks. Nissan offered me a Versa with cruise for 14 but I don't like to send profits to descendants of the japs who cannibalized US Navy pilots on Chichi Jima. They made it easy to walk away offering $1000 for burb after initial phone promises of 3500. When I swung by Chevy dealer that had done well by me with Burb, Silverado, and Vette, they had a geezer snowbird buyer ON THE LOT looking for a triple A/C used burb AND they had just unloaded two Sonics from the transporter... "arrest me red" fastback and cheaper dkgray sedan. They offered me 4500 for burb toward sedan (more like 4 for burb and 500 off sedan but same diff) and salesman said both vehicles had cruise and yes, I glanced in the window on the way from leaving burb with used car guys and proceeding alone to the finance office to sign... glanced in without opening it and saw what I thought was cruise on the stem complete with "SET/ENTER" decalomania or something like that.
Laborturd, the ony thing I like about unfeeling old you is your "certainty" that dealers can add original GM cruise but that, of course, ignores the dealer experience of everyone earlier in this forum including me. Get back to me when you know what the foch you're talking about... psychologically or mechanically.
PS Until someone breaks through this "flash permission" issue and actually gets it done with a parts list/costs provided, I'm using a wooden back scratcher and C clamp for a cruise substitute. OK for long flat interstates with no traffic where I need it most. My first Chevy (a well-used but running 1951 6cyl, 3onTree sedan) had both a manual choke and manual throttle knob on that big metal dashboard. If only they still did....
