BNR/Forge Bypass Valve installed

EASY with the right tools and research here on SOF
Okay, I used the magnet and the tape on the end of the torx bit to get it done.
45 minutes at most...very easy...why?
1: Tools.... have extensions, tape and a good light
2: Read this thread!
Few things to add to the post:
1: Undo the screws first, and unclip the hose from the thing above the BPV shown in the first picture (it has white paint lettering on it)
2: When you then pull the OEM BPV off, you can use needle nose, or pliers to remove the air line from the BPV
3: Undo the electrical plug in FRONT of the BPV (the plug with the metal "wings" on both ends. Just push in the wings on both ends and pull down.
Now you have a clearer path to the BPV screws.)
Tape down the torx bit... unless it's tight, it will fall off...did on me but I found it.
Tape the screw to the torx bit... once you thread it a few turns, just pull back gently and the tape will come off and leave the screw in
Reassemble and go "Awwwwww Wooowwwwwwwwwwwww!!!"

Very nice write up, made it very clear in addition to Preloader's OP people should have a very good idea on how to do this

Has anyone seen the stock BPV for sale online? Specifically just the spring. Earlier this year when installing my Forge BOV I dropped the stock spring while removing the stock BPV. Not really worried about it right now but may want to get a replacement if I decide to part out the Sonic.

I have a question that I'm really hoping someone on here can answer and maybe elaborate on a little bit... If I'm planning on installing a BOV soon, should I still do the bypass the bypass mod? I mean, would I still benefit from that mod if I know I'm installing a Forged BOV?

Yes. Bypass the bypass on any/all BPV/BOV setups.

You just need 2 hose caps to cap the solenoid off but leave it plugged in! Connect the BPV line directly to the manifold port and you're done. Takes longer to get everything ready and get the dang stock line off the manifold.

Yes, I had to read the original bypass the bypass post several times just to make sure I'm understanding what I'm supposed to be doing before I get my hands in to it. Thanks bud...

Yes you do, you'll be venting air the ECM has accounted for out of the intake into the atmosphere necessitating a tune to compensate. I've heard some people run them without a tune, but I would strongly recommend against it for the longevity of your engine.
So I could install it myself and drive it for a day or two before I take it in for a tune? Is that correct?
Also is it better to use a universal BOV on the intake house or is it better to use the BNR BOV that's the straight swap for the original.

just installed my forge blowoff valve! it was a PITA to get the bastard screw in the back. and ups took their time getting it here. WORTH THE WAIT! i am ALL giggles when i drive now! THANK YOU!!!!

Installed the Forge BPV today with the help of this write up. The install is pretty straight forward but is definitely a pain. I have an automatic and really just bought this for peace of mind over the stock plastic crap. I don't hear any difference or typical sound of an aftermarket bpv or bov though. I'm still on stock boost and I didn't figure there was any specific way to orient the bpv at all. Kind of disappointed I can't hear it.
