Why do i get the feeling that a lot of these "gm customer service" responses are preloaded. It seems that if u read say 10 of em, most of em say almost he exact same thing.

I'm considering something similar and was thinking about these, maybe stiffened with fiberglass? Not sure if that's enough volume for what you're running but maybe!?

Dont try to fiberglass styrofoam it will melt. Just FYI

like anything, if your 9-5 is looking at forums your going to make it so you can get the max amount of replies out, it gets documented so be it for the replies

On my sonic, I have no complaints for a stock system really. If you want club thumping bass that has no musical value, then ya its terrible, but when you apply a quality source (CD) jazz, rock etc sound great....which I guess for the show and no go crowd is a poor choice on GM's part.

I just wish you could adjust the aux-in volume a bit, it has less volume than the radio and XM but that could also be the ipod's way of business.

hmm, i didnt get cruise control or bluetooth or anything like that. i still have manual windows, i got cd player, 3 months xp, the aux jack and the 6 speakers but i cant find out how to hook an amp into a stock stereo. right now i need to get my amp, a wiring kit, and whatever i need to hook my amp into my head unit. i have my subs, iphone, and aux cord to connect iphone to the stock head unit. i have the money and the tools to do everything im just not sure exactly how. someone said something about the head unit being similar to the camaros and an adapter to tap into the radio but i cant find anything on it :/

Walmart sells an adapter for 12 bucks. All you do is run all your speaker wires through this adapter. The adapter has the ports for the RCA cables that run to you amp. Then you can leave your stock head unit in. I plan on doing this tomorro to put subs in mine. Only thing you new to know
Is the color codes for your speaker wires and where you can tap into em... I did this previously on a Taurus and the speaker wires ran all the way to the trunk so it was a simple hookup. N this way you don have to spend 200 bucks on the dash kit.

Put me in the same boat, just got a new Sonic last month and noticed that with the fader set to the rear that even turned up all the way they have almost no volume.

I took my Sonic back to the dealer. My salesman, several other salesmen, the service manager and sales manager none of them knew the Sonic comes with no rear speakers unless you get the stereo package. They were all looking all over the car and I kept telling them there is no fader control so there are no rear speakers. When I bought the Sonic my salesman said there was rear speakers. I am going to complain to GM but that will probly go no where because I would of bought the Stereo package. Other than the stereo I love the car.

I bought the base model LS Sonic. Roll down windows basic stereo, no CD player. I didn't mind no rear speakers untill I found out there was no fader option. I could have put speakers in myself. Now, I'm not sure. The whole car set up is integrated in the stereo. That's what I get for going base model. But hey, It is better than my car I traded in and it's all 3/36,000 5/100,000. Make good payments and trade up in a few years. Hahaha. It gets me from a to b back to a. And all places in between. All we wanted was a fader option GM.

My base LS has the CD player with AUX-in stereo and rear-speakers but no bluetooth (read premium sound w/o connectivity package) and a fader option.

Does your have all the light controls and settings through the radio also? From what I saw the base/fleet radio was just a clock and AM/FM and the better choice for those who want to do aftermarket units.
