I had a question about watching movies on the mylink screen. If I buy a new release movie with digital copy, copy it to usb, would it work on the mylink?

You had your MyLink updated? So you either are crazy or a liar? I understand that there is big Chevy and little Chevy. Corporate Chevy builds cars, independent contractors (wearing Chevy logo shirts) while not employed by corporate Chevrolet (GM) do in point of fact represent the company and service the cars. All the McDonalds are privately owned and operated, do your local idiots represent Corporate McDonalds, sure do in my book. The service people do not work for Chevrolet. Each dealership is a franchise. Chevrolet, to my knowledge, owns less than one dealership nationwide.
I know Chevrolet had a scheduled training for the MyLink update. I saw the notice when at a dealer to get the update before the training date. I was at the dealer on a Monday and the training was that Thursday.
I agree it is sad that there are dealers who do not even meet minimal expectations, but most to a very good job, at least for me. Am I a Chevrolet apologist? I don't think so, and I doubt that Chevrolet thinks so.
I don't know about a better GPS system as it seems to me the GPS depends on external factosr such as satellites and microwave towers. Does GPS work on my Sonic? Yep. Could it work better? I have no idea. It works and beyond that I wouldn't know.

**I originally posted this in a different thread this morning but figured I'd move it to the master thread**
Looks like I'll be heading to the dealership for my update sometime soon. Bought my car on May 30th, everything was fine until today. Along with seeing the word "update" before the music plays when I turn on the car, I had a couple of issues with MyLink this morning on my way to work, not unlike some that have been described here.
Steering controls were acting funny, scrolling the source button changed the volume, and for whatever reason it was stuck prompting me to pair a bluetooth device, with no option to pick "yes or no". Date reset itself to 1/1/2006 at 8:00pm. Luckily enough music on my USB drive still played, otherwise the drive to work would've been extra boring.
Strangely as I approached work, the bluetooth prompt disappeared and the steering controls decided to function correctly. I was able to set the time and date back to what it should be. I'm curious to see how it acts when I leave work today, the dealership I bought from is open until 9pm so I may be making a stop there on my way home.
That's exactly what mine did after the update, then once again after the 2nd update (same update, applied by the dealership on my 2nd visit)... and has only done it once since the update, nearly 4 weeks later... still "ok". Would be nice to get a straight answer on how to get the radio to reboot (Mylink splash screen), as it currently will randomly do it @ startup, other times the radio just comes on instantly to whatever I was last playing.

Had that experience with my Honda Fit. Was a recall for the engine. Had the work done at Vidmar in Pueblo, Colorado. Was driving to see a friend in Kansas and dropped a cylinder. Ever drive a 3 cylinder Fit? Drove from Colby to Garden City Kansas (up and down hills) at 15-20 mph on the side of the highway for six hours to get to the nearest Honda dealership. Vidmar over tightened and broke a head bolt. Good dealers are hard to find.So far so good on my Mylink for 4 weeks now. No backup camera fiasco.
BringGo has been ok (working with BringGo on certain aspects that still are a little flaky).
Unrelated, but took my girlfriend's HHR to Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet (they did the Mylink work on my Sonic) for a rough idle problem, was told "no codes" everything fine/the 2.2L engine idles rough normally (I call BS on that), and wanted me to do a ~$265.00 throttle body/fuel system clean. I declined picked up her HHR, then last weekend opened the hood to start looking at the throttle body (going to clean it myself) as her engine still idles rough/shakes... discovered the mechanic left a pair of pliers on the radiator/support. When the dealership called to do a follow up and rate their service, I told them exactly what happened, plus I will never be bringing either of my Chevy vehicles back to Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet, I'm taking my business elsewhere. I got a call from the dealership the following morning, but I let it go to voicemail. I have no trust in them. As with any vehicle brand you will have poor and great service (Had this happen with Dodge & Toyota), the hard part is finding a trustworthy dealership.
