If you end up bricking, you will be fine if you are under warranty there are a few guys that have had units replaced before we figured all this out.

I can confirm that if you have the dealer recall update to 24.1 you do not need to flash to 24.5 if you want to enable video in motion.

The only part of KrakenRedBeard's unlocking project I used was the part to enable the video in motion - copying the MgrMcm.exe file. I first made a backup copy of my original MgrMcm.exe file just in case things didn't work out though.

I did not try to add the MirrorLink, as I have an iPhone and wouldn't be able to test it anyway.

Steering wheel controls work, backup camera works, and I have video in motion on the 24.1 recall update.

I also changed my loading screen just for the fun of it!

My forward collision alert has been "sticky" lately. It will alert then stick in mute. I've kept it off with no issues lately

I have a buddy at work with a Volt, and his goes off when nothing is around. It is not a flawless system. But yeah, it hasn't happened again... but I am thinking it is time for a replacement. Those whom have done so, what are the suggestions for similar functionality in a head unit.

I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with?

Recently got a 2013 Sonic RS. MyLink was version 13-1, and BringGo was 1.3.xxx (prior to getting the RS, I tried a 2014 LT, it had BringGo version 1.4).

Brought the car in to the dealer for the key chime safety recall.

MyLink is now 24-1, but whatever their radio tech did, BringGo got downgraded to version 1.2, now missing features and settings I needed.

I brought it back to the dealer, and they say they don't know about it, there is nothing they can do.

I have contacted BringGo support, they say because it is the app on the Chevy MyLink (and not the one on the phone), I have to contact Chevrolet.

The first time I contacted Chevrolet Infotainment support, they transferred me to the regular Chevrolet support, who in turn only just transferred me back to the dealer who did the recall install, and had no ideas on what to do.

I have gone back and forth between Chevrolet support and the dealer, and even was able to get the radio tech in the car with me to physically show him the problem. But still no one knows anything about this! All I want, is to get the BringGo app in the MyLink updated to whatever is the latest version, or at least to the 1.4 version I used in that temp 2014 LT. Would anyone know how to update the BringGo in the MyLink radio? As I can use the developer mode to copy files over, does anyone have the updated files to send me?

Also of note: this dealer has a brand new 2015 Sonic RS on the lot. They did the key chime safety recall on it. And now it too, has had BringGo downgraded to version 1.2!! So have to wonder? Does the firmware upgrade for MyLink always downgrade the apps in MyLink? Or, are there other *STEPS* to follow, other software updates or installs, that should have been done after the recall updates, but techs at various dealers have not had the proper, or complete training to know they need to? I've seen mention of a PI (Public Information) bulletin, with some software part numbers. But no one at the dealer or Chevrolet support recognize them.

That is exactly what I am looking for. If we could determine what files are part of BringGo (maybe more than just an exe, maybe dll files, maybe even png or jpg?), and in which folder(s), we could maybe fix this. I wonder which version of BringGo comes in that 24-5 firmware many want to install? Am a bit interested in maybe installing that 24-5. But on the other hand, doing so would screw up helping to find an official fix by working with Chevrolet, if I don't keep the recall version on it.

When you find the files, go ahead and pm me, so I could send you my email address? Unless you post those files somewhere online for all to use? Thank much!!!!!

INeFFeCTiVE, were you ever able to find out what files and/or folders I need to copy for the BringGo app yet? All I need is that information, and that might fix the version downgrade issue. Have some truly nasty information given to me by the Infotainment support person working my case. Sorry to post this in multiple locations, but it does concern MyLink, BringGo main thread, and especially my thread about the dreaded downgrade after the key chime recall:

After ALL I've gone through, millions of calls back and forth, multiple visits to 2 dealers (and this is in no way meant to bad rap the 2nd dealer, for Tim Foote at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine Texas has been a FANTASTIC help, truly trying to get this resolved!!!!), on my last call back from Infotainment, I was told that BringGo was no longer being used by Chevrolet!!!! As we know there is now Android Auto and Apple xxxx but those are for 2016 and newer models ONLY. I asked what happens for those of us with OLDER cars/MyLink, and there was NO ANSWER. What the h........???!!!! So how many bought their cars thinking they could use BringGo navigation on their MyLink radios, and are now left out in the cold?

And yes, I tried the special config file that gave the MirrorLink option. But sadly, maybe it's my HTC ONE M8 that is not compatible, or it too is for 2016 and newer cars? Because it would not work for me, even trying the Syslogic MirrorLink nav app.

So, if BringGo is truly no longer supported, Android Auto is for 2016 and newer, and MirrorLink does not work, we are screwed. Hmmmm, main sell of MyLink, is useful apps? NOT? Misleading advertising? For sure, I am now quite angry!

I don't mean the whole MyLink Unit. I mean JUST the Audio. Is there even a way? Only thing I could figure out was using Pause....

It just seemed weird, that when I wanted to disable music while I was playing with other things, like Bringgo which has Audio, I couldn't find a way to actually STOP Audio, only Pause it.

Hmmm, Maybe I missed it and I'm just tired.

The app version on your phone is correct, and is the latest.

The version you show on MyLink does not seem right. Did you go to BringGo settings, then About? On the 2014 LT I had for a few days, it was 1.4.x, and my current RS before the key chime recall was 1.3.x. After the recall, it is now 1.2.x. But how odd! I checked a brand new, unsold 2016 RS on their lot, it had radio firmware version23, and the BringGo on it showed as 1.1.1.42 - go figure? But one quick way to see if BringGo on MyLink is an old version is that the startup spalsh screen is plain black, and the menu screens are black and white. The newer versions have a color splash screen, colored menus, colored and 3D icons, more icons and settings and features.

My fear now, is if the news Infotainment gave me about BringGo no longer used (and thus no longer supported), and the newer Android Auto is 2016 and newer only, what will Chevrolet give us for a replacement NAV app on our older models? The major selling point for MyLink, as promoted in the numerous YouTube videos from Sara LeBlanc (MyLink Program Director), was the addition of BringGo to give NAV to us

Not a dumb question at all. That was one of the first things that bugged me shortly after getting the car. Every time I turned on MyLink, the radio or thumb-drive music would begin to play. Then it occurred to me; after adjusting our vehicle settings, the developers probably figured the only other reason to turn on MyLink is to listen to music. The video option would not likely get much use, if any, and they probably didn't give much consideration to BringGo. And phone calls can be sent and received without even turning on MyLink, assuming of course that your phone has already been paired.
So they made it very quick to start listening to music; just fire up MyLink and the music starts.

The best option I could find for having silence when running MyLink is to hit the Mute button on the steering wheel for the active source. It works best if you first go to Home screen and then hit Mute. You can then turn off MyLink and even turn the car off, and the music usually remains off the next time you turn on MyLink.
It's important to be on the Home screen before shutting off MyLink because if you shut off MyLink while on the Audio screen, the next time you turn on MyLink the Audio screen is immediately displayed and the music starts even if Mute had been activated before last shutting off.
The Mute button while listening to a music source should not affect NAV audio.

The steering wheel volume buttons work the same way. If you adjust volume during music, the NAV volume should not be affected, and when adjusting the volume during NAV voice direction, it should not affect music volume.

Yeah, I would like a way to actually shut off the radio. I'll have to play with what you suggest, with the volume's. It maybe it's adjusting it by whether it's internal, or external (bluetooth). If so, it would be nice if it actually said it.

I do remember when I first got the car I had the HARDEST time getting the voice out of Bringgo and actually had to download an app that controlled my phones bluetooth Volume, otherwise it was at random levels. I was probably doing what you said without realizing it.

OK, Here's what I did....

Started car, music plays (now that bothers me)
Went to Smart Phone Apps - All dim

Opened Bringgo on my LG G2
It opens and I click settings
Bringgo Navigator - USA & CAN 2.1.6


I go back to Mylink, and Bringgo is now lit up.
* I got warning Device was not compatible 1st time, not this time
I got the big "CAUTION" pop-up again, even though Auto OK is checked.
I go to Settings, then About
Bringgo Navigator 0.9.36

So it seems a I have a REALLY old version.

But it seems to work.

I am about due for an oil change, and I'm really debating whether I want them to update my firmware. I am going to play with Bringgo now that I got the 30 day trial. It looks great though, and I hear the audio, but I haven't gone anywhere with it yet. I drive less than 5k a year but taking grand kids to some "fun" places next week.

I wonder if I got a copy of just the AppGogo.exe and AppGogo.map files, and uploaded them, if that would be enough to do the upgrade. If I could get them from someone, I'd try it. I've backed up what I have now, which is apparently 0.9.36, so can't hurt.

It does look slightly different to me though. Maybe because I haven't used it in so long, or because the app on the phone is newer. Either way, I'd try playing with the software. I figure the worst that can happen is I have to go get the latest SW, and it fixes what I break, as long as I don't break CE itself.

I was only getting the Bringgo Version on the Mylink, and when I was in Developer mode there are a lot of files, with versions, so I wasn't sure which people were looking at.

I just went to MyLink - Settings - System version and here's what I got;

HW part number : 95368250
SW part number : 13.02-95371037

I'd like to get the two AppGogo files from someone and, what issues they're having now, and see if I can re-create it with their version. But sounds like MyLink Bringgo is an OLD version, BETA even.

Today I tried listening to music via Bluetooth and no sound was coming out. I tried resetting the Mylink settings and restarted both Mylink and my iphone but still nothing. Yesterday, the sound was very dim, but at least I could hear it when turning up the sound. Now today nothing. Any suggestions?

I had this problem with my LG G2 and an app (Bringgo). It was very inconsistent. I just learned, like others have said, the volume is controlled separately. But at the time, there was so many things in play (My phone, Bluetooth itself, Phone App, Mylink App and Mylink itself, I couldn't get it to be consistent, until I found a free app to control the Bluetooth Audio level for my phone. Once I set the Bluetooth volume to max on my phone via that app, I didn't have the issue again. So, I don't think it's just one place you have to look.

But,..... I chickened out. Reason was, when I checked the properties of both current and your AppGoGo.exe, the current one was 4.54 megs in size and dated 2015, and the files you had were a smaller 3.97 megs and dated 2013. Also while looking around, I found another AppGoGo folder, which contained map files, configuration files, and what looks to be my personal settings and address book files. So I guess it best to wait for someone to find an actual install or update package. Dang! But at least we tried, and can say we learned a bit more about our systems. Thanks for helping!!!

I have the 2015 LTZ Turbo model. The tap 10 times on the right to access developer mode does not work. Not sure how to manually update the firmware on this thing. I have a Nexus 6P and it doesn't even recognize my device.
