Clock keeps going to military time, and last station memory

Did a search, but no luck. I remember someone posting about how their Mylink won't keep the station on different days..

I've noticed mine will reset to station 1 for XM when I was on a totally different station.

And I've had to (more than once) reset the clock from 24 hour time, to 12 hour...

Not a huge deal, just odd that it does those little resets...

Just me?

Hmmm mine only resets after I've taken it in for service and they update it.
Mine has never done it by itself.

well, not "resetting" as in all the stations are gone. They're still there, it's just it's not on Station 33 the next time I turn it on, it's gone back to Station 1...and I just have to push the "33" again...

Here's an answer then.

Seeing as iOS is pretty much the same, device to device, sans certain features that are present on certain devices/version of their OS, you can prettying count on the iPod music player to function exactly as it does on an iPhone.

My 160gb iPod Classic works as a music player plugged into my USB, so does my iPhone.

What isn't gonna work is any functionality that would require a data signal. Like BringGo, Pandora, TuneIn, etc.

But you probably would have known that if you had done your research, or read the last 665 posts in this thread, or even searched it...

MyLink problems

I've been poking around this site a few days now and finally hit paydirt. ...was beginning to think me and a few poor slobs with Malibus were the only ones with MyLink troubles! First, Sirius died on the day it went from free trial to pay4play ( they tried talkin' me through troubleshooting right up to removing cable from battery terminal and chillin' for a while ). Finally they said I have a bad radio and need service. I certainly am not taking off from work to get music to play out of a system that I then write checks for. Sirius was cool and issued me the full year refund. Next three and a half months went by uneventfully. Then the vehicle setting for all-locks-open would revert to driver-only but that I could live with. Fast Forward two more weeks and start car ...BAM screen frozen on "MyLink" ...no clock, no radio, no Ipod, no Bluetooth. Get home, remove battery cable, say Hail Mary, wait... K love comes on ( no foolin' ). Can only guess last station played was Christian Radio. Either that or someone is telling me something. There is no volume or station selection possible. I had to laugh when my wife got in the car and rolled her eyes saying, "ughh I just need five minutes of silence"
Honey, if you want a real radio, get back in your '04 Vibe! For the past week it's anyone's guess whether I praise the Lord on my way to work or sit in silence. Silence ain't too bad when when your rowing through a six speed 1.4 turbo, though! I have an appointment tomorrow a.m. This will be fun, right?:

That is awful. If mine decides to do that, please let it stick to NPR. Otherwise, I may have to ask my wife to trade cars with me. She also has a Pontiac Vibe ('03 model) with two fried rear speakers. And Sirius via FM. Sounds like dump but is infinitely better than MyLink on the fritz.

I do have a question about Cadillacs: there was a rumor going around that there will be an ATS coupe. Is that just a rumor or does it look real?

I don't think GM has 'officially confirmed' the ATS coupe. There are certainly plenty of spy photos of it online though. I read on one of those sites that they expect it to be unveiled in November this year.

There's this whole confidentiality thing they're pretty strict about... particularly after an employee here (*ahem* now a former employee) took pictures in the plant of the new alpha-platform CTS and leaked them to Jalopnik before GM had released pictures of it. LOL, I did say ask me about Cadillacs... I didn't say I'd be able to answer. I really like my job...

I will say, there are very exciting things coming for the ATS. :banana: (that's vague enough to not get me in trouble, right? )

Sirius channel 1 would usually pop up when I started car but three or four times in the few months I had it, it would just jump to channel 1 as I was driving along...another reason I didn't mind losing Sirius. Funny about the 24 hr clock, twice in the six months I've had the car I had to reset to GET mil time!

I must say... I hate the new update... I wish I could just blame my issue on my iPhone and Siri but it was nice pushing talk once then holding to trigger Siri then asking her to send a message... She then would show me the message... Seems unsafe, of course... But she's horrible at sending a message and I prefer to proof read it... Since the update, no ability to proof read... And now the car locks me out of my phone too? Super annoying. Why can't I just make the decision to text, drive and know the risks on my own? Damn you GM.

PS BringGo kinda sucks too.

Siri is a california girl, nice to look at but she can't understand a Conecticut yankee. Try switchin' to the British guy...he seems to understand my accent a little better

Just back from the dealer Paul Conte Chevy...three hours to tell me the radio's dead and they gotta order a new one. The tech said he's had a couple like this already. He pulled the fuse on the thing so I don't have to listen to Christian rock. I threw a couple Ihome Bluetooth speakers on the dash and it's linked to Iphone/Pandora...it ain't so bad. Y'know three hours in a waiting room that's under construction with no A/C would normally cheese me off, but this place has actual Human Beings working there! Quite a difference from the dealer-who-mustn't-be-mentioned.

It may not be an incredible number. After all, one only really posts in this thread if one's MyLink takes a sh!t.

I remember MyFordTouch had serious teething problems when it debuted. I think the problems were more widespread, to the point of Consumer Reports making a big stink out of it.

It doesn't seem like we are at that point, especially considering that a lot of the knocks on MFT were that it was a clunky and slow system with poor ergonomics even when it did work. MyLink does work pretty well when it's functioning properly (lack of Android USB support notwithstanding, though that may be an Android problem).

I just hope that Chevy and other MFRs have learned from the MFT fiasco that they need to really take this ICE stuff very seriously and not count on early adopters to be ersatz beta testers.

My turn to chop on the MyLink system. I never listen to the radio, 99% of the time I listen to albums from a USB drive, I have 2 16GB ones that I bought strictly for the Sonic giving me about 250-300 albums. The other 1% is BT from my GS3 when I have something new that I haven't put on the drives yet. Listening to BT is annoying because when I get a notification on my phone it mutes the music and plays the notification. That is a phone problem, though.

One of my complaints is there is a decay the ML system introduces between tracks, so if a track continues to another one and normally there is no pause, the ML fades in the new track muting the first second or so of the track. This may not seem like much but you don't mess with people's music and introduce artificial artifacts into the music, just play it, don't modify it. This "feature" was probably programmed into the software by the same high school drop out music hater that programmed it to play tracks on albums alphabetically.

Another annoyance is that it doesn't remember where it was half the time. If I'm in the middle of an album and park and come back, sometimes it picks up where it left off, other times it reverts back to what it was playing 1 or 2 power cycles ago.

My BT and phone do work well with the system and other than BringGo being a POS mapping app and the other apps being next to useless, I can live with it for now. First world problems, I know.

I just replaced my first 2013 Sonic with a new one. Unfortunately my first one suffered some flood damage after just a month of buying it. Anyways, now my replacement sonic has the MyLink Radio.

Haven't been in depth enough to really take advantage of every feature but the one thing I cannot seem to find is a simple feature of going back on the ipod.

Typically I select songs by Artist > Album > Song. Should I decide to go to another song in the same album or to another album, is there no way to just hit the back button without going to the home screen or having to go back to the initial ipod menu of artists genres playlists etc.?

I have not counted, but it seems there are way more posts about the Myink HU needing replacement in other sections than in this section, including the General, the RS, the Owners and possibly some other sections. Even if the only units needing replacement have been noted on this forum, that seems to me to be a huge number.

YES! I despise this fade in "feature." It serves absolutely no purpose other than to ruin whatever it is you are listening to. That small amount of the track that it screws around with changes the entire song and not for the better.

At least make it a user-selectable annoyance.
